• In the Community

Toronto Pearson is your airport and also your neighbour. As an airport, we work to connect passengers to their next adventure, people with jobs and opportunities, investments to the region. As your neighbour, we work to better connect with the communities in our own back yard through community partnerships and events. Whether it is supporting local programs or just setting up our tent at a community event, we look forward to meeting with and supporting our neighbours.

Connecting Community Partners to Our Network of Resources

We have partnered with SEVA Kitchen, a food bank that not only sits in our backyard but a resource that plays a vital role in supporting some of our neighbours.

Through this partnership, we are working to connect SEVA with our trades partners to help revitalize the food bank to ensure it can continue to meet the needs of the people it serves. As only one of two food banks in the city, we understand the importance SEVA plays in fostering wellbeing for those who access their services.

You can help support SEVA and the incredible work they do by visiting www.sevafoodbank.com.

Making Imaginations Soar with Oakville Community Foundation

Toronto Pearson is a reflection of the community that surrounds it; if the community is thriving so too is the airport. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Oakville Community Foundation to support their Community Classroom program. So far, we’ve sponsored 3,500 elementary school students in Oakville, connecting them to free arts and culture curriculum. As students return to classrooms for another year of learning, we’re focused on helping our partner make that number grow even larger. Learn more.

    Summer Street Team Program

As part of our commitment of being a good neighbour, Toronto Pearson’s signature community investment program, Propeller Project, is championing meaningful and sustainable employment in neighbourhoods around the airport. That’s why we worked with our community partner, Acces Employment, to find this year’s Street Team members to provide summer job opportunities for local youth.

Having participated in more than 60 community events, such as farmers’ markets, ribfests and elected official events, our Street Team was busy meeting nearly 6000 of our neighbours!

We were sad to see this year’s summer Street Team go; however, we’ll be looking to recruit for next year in Spring 2019.
